Dr. Christina Smolke is the CEO and co-founder of Antheia Bio, a pioneering startup focused on leveraging synthetic biology to produce essential medicines. Founded in 2015 out of the Smolke Lab at Stanford University, Antheia Bio specializes in the commercial-scale production of thebaine, a key starting material for Narcan, and other biosynthetic Key Starting Materials (KSMs) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). In addition to her role at Antheia, Dr. Smolke is a Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at Stanford University, where she has made significant contributions to the fields of synthetic biology and metabolic engineering.
